In August of 1988 Reverend Herb Wilcox became the pastor of the Kezar
Falls Assembly of God Church. Rev. Wilcox and his wife, Kay had
been living in Windham when they received the call to fill in while the
Assembly was looking for a new pastor. He had pastored churches
in Van Buren, Cumberland and in Biddeford before accepting the
pastorate at Kezar Falls. At the time he filled in at our church
he was working at Pape Chevolet in South Portland and was active in
weekend Evangelism and Kid's Camps. This pastorate was the first
one that he had held where he did not also have to work at a
secular job to support his family.
This church body has grown and thrived under the leadership of Pastor
and Kay. Our current ministries include:
- Sunday morning Sunday School, morning Worship Service and an
evening service.
- The Wednesday night outreach ministries, a blessing to the
church family which have brought in many children and young people from
the local communities.
- Treasure Chest - a program for children 12 and under
- Youth Group - a program for out teens
- Adult Bible Study
- Fellowship night - held once a month after the Sunday
evening service, is a wonderful time of fellowship and refreshments
(actually a full meal with dessert).
- Monthly outing - A bus outing to Portland once a month for
shopping, dining out, and of course, lots and lots of fellowship.
We are extremely proud of the support the church family provides for
the church facilities. The most recent improvements are a
building a new porch on the parsonage, purchasing a new baby grand
piano for the main auditorium, adding a new handicap accessible
bathroom and a new entrance with a chair lift installed.
